My name is Karen Collender and I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy working with Think CBT from my consulting rooms in Hammersmith and online via video link.
I hold a BSc in psychotherapy and an MSc specialising in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I've worked for several years within the NHS as a CBT therapist and as a private consultant psychotherapist.
Having worked, prior to this, in a variety of business roles for almost thirty years, I bring a wealth of business and life experience to the table. Roles include sales, supply chain, business analysis and and project management.
I have a warm, supportive and humorous approach to therapy. I work on a compassionate basis with my clients so that they can open up and be honest about problems without feeling judged.
My treatment philosophy involves combining elements from different approaches and tailoring our work specifically to meet your needs.
In sessions we will work collaboratively to understand how issues have developed and what factors contribute to their maintenance.
I will provide you with strategies and tools to enhance your resilience and emotional flexibility, so that you are in a better position to manage difficulties and achieve your goals.
My primary interests are in treating low mood, depression, self-esteem problems, anxiety, motivation difficulties, panic attacks, generalised anxiety, OCD related problems and phobias.
We will always start the process with a brief informal call to ensure that the relationship is right before we confirm appointments.
