My name is Rodrigo and I am a Cognitive Behavioural and Cognitive Analytical Psychotherapist working with Think CBT online via video link.
I use Cogntive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT) as my main approaches, however I also trained as a clinical psychologist in Lisbon prior to moving to the UK. This means that I'm able to draw upon a number of different psychological approaches to meet the individual needs of my clients.
Cognitive Analytical Therapy can be delivered as a standalone process normally taking around 16 sessions. It's particularly helpful for understanding how early life events and relationships influence individual behaviour and emotions. CAT can also be used as a powerful adjunct to CBT combining relationship factors with practical problem-solving strategies.
I have been practicing for more then 20 years in several therapy services including the NHS and private practice.
I combine a warm and empathic approach to therapy with a close adherence to evidence-based psychological approaches that have been proven to work across a wide range of anxiety conditions and depressive disorders.
I abide by the professional and ethical standards of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy and I hold full professional indemnity.
