Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG5
My name is Zahra and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working with Think CBT from my consulting rooms in Nottingham (NG5). I also provide virtual therapy online via zoom, teams, skype or via the telephone.
I have worked in the NHS for over 10 years in several mental health services. I have a background in Occupational Therapy meaning that I can adapt my approach to meet individual needs and use a variety of skills to help you move forwards.
I have experience of working with adults who have mild to complex mental health conditions. I specialise in, but not limited to working with addictions, anger, generalised anxiety, long term conditions, chronic pain, depression, health anxiety, OCD, panic disorder, personality disorders, trauma, PTSD, self-esteem and confidence, social anxiety, work related stress, and Covid related anxiety. I use evidence-based practice and I am up to date on current research.
My goal is to found trusting and genuine relationships and construct positive and lasting experiences that guide you to where, and who you want to be. I'll do this by listening, respecting and understanding you and tailoring sessions to your unique needs and individual journey. Together, with you as an expert in your own experiences and feelings, we’ll focus on achieving therapeutic goals and overcome obstacles to recovery. I encourage active participation in therapy where you will be supported and empowered to make choices to create positive changes.
I offer a safe, confidential and secure space to explore new horizons, break down barriers and to nurture your personal transformation. I am open minded, easy to talk to and get along with. People describe me as someone who they can relate to, who is down to earth, honest and sincere.
I am insured and registered by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (BABCP), and the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). I have a full enhanced DBS check.
I attend regular Supervision and Continued Professional Development (CPD) events and follow the BABCP’s standards of conduct, ethics, values and performance.
I look forward to hearing from you.
