My name is Kate and I am a fully qualified therapist in CBT, accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), working with Think CBT in Oxfordshire, OX10. I also provide CBT via Skype and video-link.
I have worked for the NHS for over ten years and more recently in private practice.
I work with adults from a wide variety of backgrounds and am trained in helping people in areas such as low mood, stress, depression, panic attacks, specific phobias, generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety, obsessions and compulsions (OCD), low self-esteem, low confidence and long-term health conditions. I also work with couples facing difficulties in their relationship using Cognitive Behavioural Couples Therapy.
I have a warm and personable style as a therapist and my CBT practice is also informed by Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Mindfulness and Compassion-focused Therapy. These are evidence-based therapies which look at how our past, current situation, thoughts, feelings and actions interact and then how to approach things in a more helpful way.
