Professional Profile

My name is Esther and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working with Think CBT from my consulting rooms in London (E8, E18 & IG9).

I am passionate about emotional wellbeing. I use a variety of evidence-based interventions in a sensitive, personalised, proactive approach to enable clients to overcome their problems and to flourish. My clients have described me as gentle, compassionate, focused, understanding and effective.

I am an experienced senior CBT Psychotherapist and have held full BABCP accreditation for over 10 years. I am also a trained CBT supervisor, working in the NHS IAPT Service where I work as a senior therapist 2 days a week. I also supervise CBT trainees with Hertfordshire University as a visiting lecturer.

Since qualifying as a CBT Psychotherapist, I have undertaken specialist training in the treatment of trauma (including Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement De-sensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). I work with people presenting with a variety of trauma issues, including historical and childhood trauma.

I continue to develop, update and upgrade my skills through regular training, teaching, supervising and peer support.

I have extensive experience of working with adults with anxiety disorders and depression, with a special interest in trauma, worry, loss of self-esteem and confidence, and sleep issues. I have a special interest in equality and diversity, bullying, BLM and LGBTQI trauma.

I am also a trained Mindfulness teacher with a Master of Studies (Mst) from Oxford university. I provide Mindfulness based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) in group and on individual basis. This is grounded in my own personal practice of mindfulness and compassion focused mindfulness, using the most relevant and up to date research evidence for optimal effectiveness.
