Hello my name is Sandra Ross-Cameron and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited CBT Therapist working with Think CBT in Essex (CM17). I also provide CBT online via Skype and video-link.
After two years intense training, I qualified in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy) in 2007. I continue to extend my knowledge by attending workshops to stay in touch with the latest research and developments in these approaches.
In the past two years I have taken a keen interest in Compassion Focused Therapy, and have undertaken numerous workshops in this approach, which also includes learning Mindfulness techniques. This means I am always learning and gaining new knowledge on approaches in therapy.
I started my career by working on acute mental health wards. Since then I have worked for several charities. For a period of 2 years, I travelled regularly to Switzerland to work as a Life Coach to the employees of a successful start-up bank.
In 2015 I re-joined the NHS as a dedicated full time CBT therapist. Since then I have specialised in long term health conditions and running ACT workshops for people suffering from the psychological impact of living with such conditions.
Working for the past year in private practice, I offer video sessions, and face to face with all COVID guidance in place.
By working for different companies, I feel I have gained a wealth of experience, not only from my continuous training but from the wonderful clients I have worked with. I work with age groups from 14 years and upwards, and have a true passion for helping my clients to move forward in their chosen life direction. I am dedicated to working hard alongside you, believing strongly in positive psychology, and aiming to create psychological flexibility with all clients to produce positive outcomes.
I have worked with numerous behavioural and psychological problems including PTSD,(Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) OCD, (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) Anxiety, Depression, Phobias, Relationships, Social and Health anxiety, confidence and Self-esteem.
