My name is Anita and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working with Think CBT from my consulting rooms in Birmingham.
I also provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy face to face and remotely using platforms such as Zoom. I have a PG Diploma in CBT and have trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy which allows me to utilise a combination of techniques most suited to individual needs.
Choosing therapy to work through your problems, pain or distress can be a difficult decision. I offer a warm and collaborative approach and have an active and direct manner where we focus on what matters to you.
I am committed to supporting my clients to move towards their goals and more freedom in their lives. During therapy, we will establish what you would like to achieve. We will work together to make sense of the problem and identify difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I will help you to get to the root of the problem quickly and you will learn strategies to help you cope better. I use evidence based approaches which means these methods are tried and tested.
My aim is to help you discover more about the problem and notice where you are stuck. I value trust, connection and learning which underpin my personal style as a psychotherapist.
During my time as a CBT Therapist, I have trained in and gained experience of working with individuals struggling with a range of psychological and emotional problems such as acute stress reaction, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias, Social Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, problems with low self esteem and drug and alcohol addictions.
My specialist areas of interest are anxiety disorders and addictions and I have experience of working within a charity and corporate setting. Prior to working as a therapist I spent ten years working in the addictions field with adults and young people.
I ensure I abide by the code of conduct and ethical standards set out by the BABCP. I have a full and enhanced DBS check.
