My name is Amber, I am a fully qualified and BABCP-accredited CBT therapist working with Think CBT from Sawbridgeworth, CM21.

I can draw on my training and experience of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to guide you in understanding your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in a way you may not have considered before. This can create a space for you to make a positive change and to develop coping strategies for a better life.

I thrive on providing personalised care so I will place great importance on the relationship between you and I. It can be a big step to seek therapy and you may be feeling vulnerable and uncertain about discussing your feelings and problems with a ‘stranger'. Rest assured that compassion lies at the heart of my approach.

I worked for over 8 years in the NHS, before moving fully to private practice. I am experienced in treating a wide range of difficulties which include depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, panic, worry, sleep difficulties, perfectionism, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder, hoarding, physical health problems and low self-esteem, plus many more.

CBT has a huge evidence-base of its effectiveness and you can personally experience this by working with a fully accredited CBT therapist like myself, whose training background is entirely focused around this approach.

Our first contact will give me a chance to really hear what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to gain from it. You are able to ask me questions about the therapy I offer and we can decide together whether CBT and/or ACT is likely to be beneficial.

I abide by the policies and ethical standards laid down by the BABCP and I have full professional indemnity to work as a therapist in the UK.
