My name is Jo and I am a BABCP accredited cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and registered mental health nurse, specialising in complex eating disorders and body image problems. In addition to my general mental health training, I have post-graduate training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and specialist training in the psychological treatment of eating problems and disorders. I provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in Kent and Surrey.
My clinical experience has been gained from working within a number of different NHS settings in primary and secondary care. I specialise in the treatment of adults with common psychological problems covering the full range of depression and anxiety related disorders. In addition to this I also have specialist experience and training in the treatment of eating disorders, working both with clients and carers across a wide range of specialist and complex settings.
I regard myself to be a down to earth therapist, the most important aspect of therapy for me is the relationship between the therapist and client. If the client feels comfortable with their therapist, then they are ready to acknowledge the problem, confront unhelpful thinking and behavioural patterns and undertake the changes required to overcome their difficulties.
